Book Review: Making the Right Move in Real Estate: An Insider's Guide.

Making the Right Move in Real Estate: An Insider's GuideRichard Ardia's book, "Making the Right Move in Real Estate", has the full subtitle, "An Insider's Guide for Buyers and Sellers Seeking the Best Answers to Real Estate Questions".

It includes a forward by Bob Becker, former CEO of National Real Estate Trust (NRT), who proclaims it a "must read for every potential buyer and seller of real estate, regardless of whether it is your first or fifth experience... chock full of good old-fashioned common sense and tempered with the realities of today's modern-technology advanced marketplace."

It's cover mentions that from reading the book you will lean how...
 - High Mortgage interest rates can actually work in your favor;
 - Aggressive negotiating will not necessarily get you what you want;
 - Your best friend may not be your best choice of an agent;
 - A mortgage lender may turn out to be your guardian angel;
 - How to identify and benefit from a "transition" market.

Amazon.com's review states, "Unlike many other real estate books, Making the Right Moves in Real Estate provides no get-rich-quick schemes, and no information (such as types of mortgages or definitions of terminology) that can be readily found on the internet. Instead, the book consists of bits of wisdom from a successful real estate professional whose counter-intuitive views include, among others, why a period of high interest rates might be the best time to get into real estate; why the best agent for you may be someone you've never met; and why a seller's biggest mistake is often turning down the first offer that comes along. Intended to help everyone navigate their way through the real estate maze, this book is also a worthy asset for real estate companies and their agents, regardless of their experience levels."

The book mentions that broker selection is the key to unlocking all the right doors and discusses how to pick the best broker for you needs. It discusses preparing a home for sale and setting the right price and the dangers of overpricing.  It looks at getting the buyer in the strongest position to  make an offer, negotiate price and terms and to ultimately in up with a good investment. And at various points it stresses the importance of following the Golden Rule no matter which side of a real estate transaction you are involved.

This is a good introduction to the real estate process for consumer and agent alike.
