When looking at the year-to-month (using the most recently completed month of January) actual statistics, by year, for Mercer County, the results, by year, for residential homes on the market, sold, average price and days for sale before close is charted as follows:
| Yr Ending January | Units Listed | Units Sold | % Sold | Sold Avg. | Avg. Dom |
| 2008 | 8118 | 3899 | 48 | $359,970 | 82 |
| 2007 | 8900 | 4431 | 49 | $340,065 | 76 |
| 2006 | 8380 | 5353 | 63 | $338,762 | 58 |
| 2005 | 7496 | 5494 | 73 | $297,034 | 55 |
| 2004 | 6445 | 4855 | 75 | $267,553 | 57 |
This shows some interesting trends in the number of units going on sale remaining high, despite the decreased demand, which eventually begins to extend the average days on market, but not yet effecting upward price push.
The current inventory is 2444, with an average monthly Sold of 300, yielding a backlog of 8 months to sell off the inventory at current rates of sale.
