Your State Constitutions

I just received a forwarded email that listed the words in the original or current Preambles to all the state constitutions in the United States of America.  I don't know who first sent it.  Maybe you've also seen the email.  I had never seen every state Preamble listed together and found it enlightening.

Our state constitutions are important documents, as they are the basic governing document effecting every citizen of our respective states.  I thought it would be interesting to include the state Preambles here and ask your help to link to the constitution for your state (if links do not already exist) and/or include interesting information/history/pictures related to your state constitution.

(Insert information in your comments.  Put at beginning of your comments a bolded, underlined title, "XXXX State Constitution", where "XXXX" is the name of your state. Please keep comments focused on subject.  Thank you for your help with this project.)

Thank you.  I think people should go and read this stuff.  It seems that people "back in the day" had more common sense than a lot of people in political positions have today.  I guess I'm peeved because I just read in our local paper that the county health commisioner was outraged that the county school board voted that parents of high schoolers should be notified if their child is pregnant.  What the heck!!!   Is this guy nuts!  I don't care how mature a child is.  They are still a child with a child's mind and emotions.  I have a daughter.  If she got pregnant while she was in high school, it is something that the parents should know.  If something happens, (the commisioner suggested that she might want an abortion) at the clinic and she ends up in the hospital, guess who will end up paying for the hospital bill and picking up the pieces of that young women's life.  Anyway, I think we should get back to our roots.  Thanks again for the post.
