I just received one of those emails that gets passed around warning about a supposed situation that happened and cautioning everyone to avoid the same thing happening to them... The story concerns someone who drove in bad road conditions, such as wet and/or slipper from rain or snow or freezing temperature --with their cruise control ON -- and the resultant accident that occured because the vehicle hydroplaned and lost control.
Regardless of whether the story was exactly factual, it still made a good point about the importance of not using the cruise control in wet or icy conditions. A good indicator for turning it OFF is when you need to use your windshield wiper.
Wipers ON = Cruise OFF
Wet, Icy or Slippery - YES = Cruise - NO
