New Jersey's Home Sales Tax and the Fight Against It

Living In New Jersey provides one with a many advantages and benefits.   However, as in every state, citizens need to be on guard for when the state government attempts to impose taxes that have the potential to do more harm than good.  Such, we believe, is the situation regarding New Jersey's Home Sales Tax.   The NJAR and other organizations and individuals are campaigning, on your behalf, against this regressive tax....

New Jersey's Home Sales Tax and the Fight Against ItDo you want to pay a local home sales tax?

Efforts are underway to allow individual municipalities in New Jersey to establish their own realty transfer fees, which is really a home sales tax, in addition to the fee already charged by the state.

We are looking for a large public response from New Jersey's home sellers, the group that will feel the greatest impact from the additional taxes.

If you are against such a tax and desire to protect the equity they've built up on our homes, then join us in a letter-writing campaign to help stop the New Jersey homes sales tax today at:

You can also download the Stop the New Jersey Home Sales Tax petition at http://www.njhometax.com/petition.pdf

It is important that we let our legislators know that we are opposed to local home sales taxes.

Note: Word is spreading about the campaign. Did you see the latest editorial letter submitted by the New Jersey Home Sales Tax Campaign? It appeared in the Asbury Park Press on September 27, 2007 and the Philadelphia Inquirer on September 28, 2007. Do your part to keep the momentum going!
