IRS Online Tax Information For U.S Armed Forces and All Military

The Internal Revenue Service has information resource pages tailored to specific segments of the population, such as individuals, businesses and non-profits, for example.

Online tax information resources are also available for sub-groups with those segments, such as the military and contains additional links to IRS information bulletins of interest to active U.S. Armed Forces and general military members.

Below are IRS links pages specific to the military...

Tax Information for Members of the Military - An online reference page designed by the IRS specifically for members of the military.

Tax Information for Active Members of the Armed Forces - Information about tax laws that provide some special benefits for active members of the U.S. Armed Forces, including those serving in combat zones.

Note: For federal tax purposes, the U.S. Armed Forces includes officers and enlisted personnel in all regular and reserve units controlled by the Secretaries of Defense, the Army, Navy and Air Force. The Coast Guard is also included, but not the U.S. Merchant Marine or the American Red Cross. However, these and other support personnel may qualify for certain tax deadline extensions because of their service in a combat zone.
